By land use it looks like about 40% of this proposal is parking. I’ve never seen that lot more than 30% filled. The side near Marshalls can fill up but the side near Staples is only ever a few rows. Instead of adding more parking add more homes or restaurants, or both one on top of the other.

Why is it illegal to build an actual Main Street like Main Street? Buildings close together, that can be whatever (shop, office, restaurant, apartments), spaced on a human scale, and without an ocean of parking lots?

Last week you guys talked about how we need more attainable housing in the county. This headline is the exact opposite. Shouldn’t a development like this happen in a service district. Or is this only appropriate for the southern part of the county that the elitists do not care about?
