RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A Richmond man and member of the white nationalist group Patriot Front was arrested Friday and hit with several charges relating to his alleged conduct during the Jan. 6 insurrection, including impeding and physically assaulting officers.

According to the Department of Justice, 26-year-old Nathaniel Noyce was arrested on Friday, April 19, in connection to his alleged participation and disorderly, disruptive conduct during the breach of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

Noyce has been charged with several felony and misdemeanor offenses, including assaulting, resisting or impeding officers, according to the department.

Previously, Noyce has identified himself as a member of the Patriot Front group. This group has been described as a white supremacist group by the Anti-Defamation League and a white nationalist group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Patriot Front is being sued for allegedly defacing the Arthur Ashe mural in Battery Park in 2021, as the mural was tagged with several insignias associated with the group. Noyce was included among the defendants in that lawsuit and, alongside multiple other members, failed to have that lawsuit dismissed in early April.

In court documents obtained by 8News, Noyce is accused of the following conduct during the Jan. 6 insurrection:

  • Forcing entry into the Capitol grounds through the police barricade at the east side, alongside other rioters
  • Entering the Capitol with other rioters through the East Doors, which was made possible by some rioters assaulting police
  • Entering the Rotunda and resisting removal, with allegations that he was “one of the last rioters that officers removed”
  • Appearing to give directions to other rioters about resisting officers in the East Foyer
  • Becoming physical with officers, including wrapping his arm around an officer from behind over the officer’s shoulder
  • Forcibly removing an officer’s protective visor while seemingly recording the incident on his phone, then hitting that officer in the face with the hand holding his phone
  • Refusing to leave the Capitol grounds for hours, even as many already left or were removed

Several images provided as evidence of Noyce’s conduct during the insurrection were included within the court documents. These are shown below.

Noyce has reportedly already made his initial court appearance in the Eastern District of Virginia.
